Good Evening everyone, my name is __________and I’m an alcoholic. Welcome to the Online 11th Step Meditation Meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Let’s open the meeting with a moment of silence, followed by the Serenity Prayer.
[After a moment of silence]
God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and Wisdom to know the difference.
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
The 7th Tradition is where money and spirituality mix. If you would like to contribute to the AA service structure, please use the Venmo link which I will share before the closing of the meditation.
For meeting verification, please chat me your preferred name and email address and the verification will be sent after the meeting.
Is there anyone with less than 30 days of sobriety? Please unmute and introduce yourself so we can welcome you.
Are there any AA birthdays this month? Please unmute your device and let us know your sobriety milestone.
Join us for our group conscience meeting held the last Wednesday of every third month; December, March, June, and September. If you are interested in being of service in our meeting, please plan to attend the meeting or reach out to a secretary.
This meeting is dedicated to the 11th Step of Alcoholics Anonymous which is:
“Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.”
The purpose of this meeting is to prepare us for the next 24 hours through prayer and meditation. We will now begin a guided meditation based on the 11th step titled: “11th Step Morning Meditation (as suggested by the Big Book)”. We will meditate for about 18 minutes, and then we’ll open the meeting up for discussion.
[Using the screen share feature, play the video.]

[After the meditation video ends, stop screen sharing and gently welcome everyone back to the room. Remember to post the chat sections from the end of this document.]
Welcome back, everyone. We will now open the meeting for discussion with the 11th Step as the topic. The 11th Step is: “Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.”
When you are called on to share, please limit your time from 3 to 5 minutes.
[Call on each person and ask if they’d like to share. The secretary can share last.]
[After everyone has had a chance to share, you can end the meeting.]
Thank you everyone for being here, we will now close the meeting with the Serenity Prayer.
God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and Wisdom to know the difference.
[End of meeting]
